Art exhibit focuses on lay ministry

Saint Meinrad Archabbey Library Gallery, St. Meinrad, IN, is hosting an exhibit of collages and poems that reflect on the life of lay ministry. "Words and Images" will be on display March 23 through April 8.

The traveling exhibit originated at St. John's School of Theology and Seminary in Collegeville, MN, and celebrates the 10th anniversary of the U.S. bishops' document, Co-Workers in the Vineyard of the Lord.

The exhibit includes 15 collages, along with a booklet of accompanying poems, created by lay ministers. The exhibit is designed to draw people into the lives and ministry of lay ecclesial ministers and help more people think collectively about the greater good of the Church and its mission.

In conjunction with the exhibit, Saint Meinrad Seminary and School of Theology will host a day of reflection for lay ministers on Friday, March 24. Details are available at:

An opening reception for the exhibit will be held at the library on March 24 from 3:30 to 4:30 p.m. Central Time. Wine, soft drinks and light hors d'oeuvres will be served.
