Saint Meinrad Archabbey

A catholic monastery devoted to the teachings of St. Benedict

April 8-15, 2016

Last weekend, Fr. Eugene led the retreat through our Guest House titled "He has Been Raised."

On Wednesday, we had part 2 of our "State of the Monastery" community meetings. We had a dozen small groups and discussed the second half of feedback from a monastery-wide survey. This will be helpful as we approach the election of our next archabbot on June 2.

Fr. Guy served as Mass heb this week.

Fr. Micheas returned home from the hospital this week. He was receiving some therapy for a stroke he suffered, and now he will continue some therapy in our infirmary. We are happy to have him and Fr. Damian home!

Our visiting brother, Br. Stephen Lawson, left this week for his home monastery of St. Anselm in Manchester, NH, to prepare for his transitional diaconate ordination on Saturday. He will be ordained by an alumnus of our school, Bishop Peter Libasci.

The second of our series of podcasts launched this week. The topic: St. Meinrad, the Man, the Martyr, the Place.

Br. Zachary relies on seminarians assigned to Branchville Prison to help with various Catholic ministries there. While the seminarians are away for the summer, several of the junior monks will be helping with the outreach ministry.

St. Benedict and St. Meinrad, pray for us!

Each day the monks of Saint Meinrad Archabbey write another page in the long history of Benedictine monks throughout the world. Here are recent events chronicled at Saint Meinrad.
