Saint Meinrad Archabbey

A catholic monastery devoted to the teachings of St. Benedict

November 4-10, 2016

On Saturday we enjoyed a treat: a pizza lunch at the UnStable.

On Sunday the school community joined us in the Archabbey Church for vespers followed by a combined community dinner in Newman Dining Room. They hosted us for compline that evening in St. Thomas Aquinas Chapel.

About a dozen priors from around  the country joined us on Thursday and will be with us until the 13th for a Benedictine Priors conference. They are staying in the Guest House. Sister Jane Becker, OSB, from Ferdinand is the guest speaker while Prior Earl from St. Vincent Archabbey is chairing the various discussions.

Father Adrian last weekend led the "Mysterious Meister Eckhart" retreat at the Guest House.

The latest from Br. Francis' The Path of Life blog: Communion Prayer.

On Monday, after compline, we wrapped up our monastery visitation with the Recessus. Brother Prior Daniel from Glastonbury read the Recessus report, which summarized feedback the visitators heard from interviews with our community. We thank Brother Prior Daniel as well as Abbot President Vincent Bataille from Marmion Abbey and Father Patrick Caveglia from Conception Abbey for their good work with us.

It seems as though Fall has made its mark on the area. If you're in the area, stop on campus, join us for prayer and spend some time enjoying the beautiful fall views in the area.

Each day the monks of Saint Meinrad Archabbey write another page in the long history of Benedictine monks throughout the world. Here are recent events chronicled at Saint Meinrad.
