Introduction

Saint Meinrad Seminary and School of Theology is seeking an individual to work full time assisting the Director of the Young Adult Initiative in carrying out all activities and functions of a grant-funded program that aims to help parishes engage young Catholics ages 23-29.



Primary Duties & Responsibilities

  • Manages, organizes, and posts content on YAI public website, YAI partner parish intranet, and social media platforms
  • Maintains and updates all records, including an up-to-date database of participant information to be shared with the Development Office
  • Functions as event meeting planner, in coordination with Guest Services, for YAI events including planning, logistics, registration, communications, implementation, and evaluation
  • Assists YAI director in content creation and curation by researching and reviewing relevant content from websites, blogs, social media, and professional sources
  • Collects and publishes partner parish experiences on YAI website
  • Manages program billing in conjunction with the Business Office
  • Requests and tracks stipends and travel reimbursements
  • Coordinates travel logistics for YAI director, including partner parish appointment scheduling
  • Coordinates travel for YAI event speakers
  • Records minutes for YAI events
  • Manages and organizes production of print/electronic materials
  • Maintains correspondence, internal and external
  • Inventories and purchases program supplies
  • Maintains YAI office functions, including when YAI director is traveling
  • Performs day-to-day office administrative responsibilities, including, but not limited to, making and receiving phone calls and emails, database management, faxing, filing, copying, and mailing


Experience & Qualifications

  • Associate's in Business Administration, Organizational Leadership and Supervision, Communications, or similar field, or equivalent experience
  • Organizational, planning, budgeting, oral and written communication skills
  • Interpersonal and collaborative skills in dealing with staff members, project representatives, and the public in general
  • Knowledge and proficiency in appropriate office computer programs and ability to learn new programs when necessary
  • Experience working with various software applications:
    • Proficiency with MS Outlook, MS Word and MS Excel required
    • Experience with MS Access preferred
    • Experience with WordPress, website design, and website maintenance preferred
    • Experience with social media engagement preferred
    • Desktop publishing experience beneficial
  • Experience in Internet research preferred
  • Basic understanding of Catholic young adult ministry and Catholic Church structure preferred
  • Flexibility and adaptability to meet the changing needs of the department
  • Language other than English an asset
