Introduction

Saint Meinrad Archabbey has an opening for a full-time Director of Hospitality Services. The Director is responsible for the daily management and coordination of Guest Services, Housekeeping, and Food Services, including administration, supervision, and customer service. This person manages the overall guest experience, including reservations, lodging, meals, and events.



Primary Duties & Responsibilities

  • Manage the overall guest experience, including lodging, coordination of meals and events, housekeeping, and coordination of room maintenance and remodeling.
  • Responsible for developing, planning, oversight and management of space usage for internal and external customers.
  • Maintain customer service and ensure customer satisfaction by overseeing procedures and policies governing customer interactions and the handling of customer feedback.
  • Identify customer and market needs to develop new products and services.
  • Coordinate scheduling and maintenance of guest rooms, event space, and dining rooms with Housekeeping, Food Services, Physical Facilities, and other internal departments.
  • Hire, train, and evaluate staff.  Conduct staff meetings to communicate expectations and achievements.
  • Maintain POS software to support internal and external space management in coordination with customer purchases.
  • Oversee website and social media channels to market and promote products and services.
  • Prepare operating and capital budgets and operations metrics; explain variances.
  • Available to work evenings and weekends.
  • Available as contact for after-hours questions or requests.
  • Perform other duties as requested by the Treasurer/Business Manager.


Experience & Qualifications

  • Proven leadership, interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Customer service or customer relationship experience, and ability to inspire team to provide extraordinary customer service.
  • Self-motivated and comfortable working both independently and as part of a team.
  • Excellent organizational skills in order to handle many projects at one time.
  • Ability to interact with a diverse group of people, both internal and external.
  • Have an understanding of basic accounting principles; ability to review and analyze financial records.
  • Proficient with MS Office applications.
  • Ability to multi-task and meet deadlines.
