The monks of Saint Meinrad are keeping you in prayer!

Following the practice of the Archdiocese of Indianapolis (and most of the country at large), our church has been closed to public worship since mid-March. But we monks have continued to gather in our Archabbey Church five times each day for the celebration of the Eucharist and the Divine Office.

We look forward to the time – and we hope it will be soon – when we can again open our doors to the public. We regret we are not able to do that at this time. We base our decision out of concern for our monastic community (many of whom are 65 or older), our co-workers, and a few dozen seminarians who, unable to return to their homes, have remained with us.

We continue to live stream our daily Mass (Weekdays 7:30 a m.; Sundays 9:30 a.m.) and Evening Prayer (5 p.m.). Please join us! (www.saintmeinrad.org/liveAll times are Central Time.

This past week, the monastic community concluded its annual retreat. Due to coronavirus-related concerns, the retreat was conducted by one of our own resident monks rather than, as usual, an outside speaker.

Renewed by this time and strengthened by God's grace, we will continue with our prayer and work, as we remember especially the victims of the coronavirus and their families, friends, and professional healthcare workers who care for them.
