Full-time Guest House Kitchen Attendant

Introduction

Saint Meinrad Archabbey's Food Services department has an opening for a full-time Guest House Kitchen Attendant.

Primary Duties & Responsibilities

The basic function of the Guest House Kitchen Attendant is to cook and serve breakfasts, host our guests and residents, and serve lunch and dinner meals. Much flexibility is necessary with this position, as the schedule changes weekly (first and second shift) due to Guest House demands and demands in the main kitchen. This person will also work in Salads and Breakfast at the main kitchen when not needed at the Guest House.  

Experience & Qualifications

• Previous experience in food service preferred but not mandatory
• Must be able to work independently and have an ability to relate well with others
• Must accurately record cash transactions and operate a cash register system
• Requires the ability to read, write and perform basic math functions
• Must have a valid driver’s license and safe driving record
• Must provide a high level of hospitality, having a pleasant and accommodating presence with guests
• Requires lifting of up to 40 pounds and ability to push carts
• Must be able to stand for long periods of time and work under pressure for short periods of time
