Associate Director of Annual Giving

Introduction

The Development Office of Saint Meinrad Archabbey has an opening for a full-time, salaried Associate Director of Annual Giving. The Associate Director assists the Director of Annual Giving in the promotion, management and evaluation of all efforts related to acquiring, recognizing, and renewing Saint Meinrad's annual fund donors. The Associate Director shall have particular responsibility for promoting and coordinating the Parish Program in its current dioceses and expanding the program to other dioceses.



Primary Duties & Responsibilities

  • Promote, conduct and monitor the Saint Meinrad Sunday program in the dioceses of Evansville, Lafayette, Fort Wayne-South Bend, and Indianapolis in Indiana, and Owensboro and Louisville in Kentucky.
  • Propose, evaluate, and implement new ways to pursue the goals of the Saint Meinrad Sunday program in dioceses more distant from Saint Meinrad.
  • Work with the Associate Director of Alumni Relations to encourage and facilitate Alumni and monks’ involvement in the Saint Meinrad Sunday program.
  • Devote an average of five days a month to calling on Alumni to seek their participation in the Saint Meinrad Sunday program.
  • Coordinate the planning and execution of the annual Alumni Phonathon held at Saint Meinrad.
  • Plan and implement a phonathon and thankathon program for “friends” donors.
  • Develop relationships with Abbot Martin Marty Guild level donors and other benefactors, devoting an average of three days a month to personal contact with these individuals with the expectation of ten contacts per month.
  • Assist in the operation and support the improvement of the regular annual support vehicles.
  • Participate in the planning and activities related to the Abbot Martin Marty Guild.
  • Assist the Director of Annual Giving in the coordination of donor renewal and upgrade efforts, as well as new direct mail acquisition and renewal programs.
  • Attend regional Benefactor Dinners, Overseers’ Meetings, Alumni functions, and other special events.


Experience & Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree and, preferably, training in the field of fund raising.
  • Proven interpersonal, organizational, analytical, and leadership skills.
  • Strong writing skills.
  • Working knowledge of various computer software programs (including Microsoft Office programs and Blackbaud’s Raiser’s Edge).
  • Ability to comprehend, analyze, and interpret challenging texts; communicate persuasively the mission and values of Saint Meinrad, both in writing and orally; write and speak in a creative and persuasive manner; and perform as a team player.
  • Dedication and commitment to the long-term success of the Development Office and Saint Meinrad are key attributes.
