COVID-19 Policies and Guest Procedures

All policies and procedures are subject to change, based on updated and changing needs and/or developments.

The health and safety of our guests, co-workers, students and monks is our number one priority. Saint Meinrad Archabbey will continue to follow the CDC (Centers for Disease Control and Prevention) guidelines and provide any updates as we approach a future reopening in a cautious and meticulous manner. For more details and information, please read below:

Updated Sanitation Procedures

Our sanitation process was restructured to further enhance safety and minimize risk for our guests, co-workers, students and monks. It ensures the hygiene and sanitation practices of our property meets or exceeds regulatory requirements and the recommendations of the CDC. This commitment also includes new cleanliness protocols that meet or exceed our already rigorous standards.

To minimize risk and enhance safety for all, we use disinfectant products that have been approved and certified by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) for use against emerging viruses, bacteria, and other airborne and blood-borne pathogens.

We have increased our routine environmental cleaning and adhere to the recommendations set forth in the EPA Emerging Pathogen Policy regarding cleaning and disinfectants. Disinfectants are applied during cleaning of our guest suites, public spaces, meeting rooms, and other “high-touch” areas.

Saint Meinrad Archabbey takes great pride in its attention to hospitality and the cleanliness of its property. We have committed to the Hoosier Hospitality Promise, a joint effort among tourism industry leaders in Indiana.

Co-workers have been trained on the newest CDC standards regarding COVID-19. Food will be served by trained co-workers in proper PPE to ensure the integrity of sanitation is upheld throughout the duration of your stay.

COVID-19 Specific Initiatives

To ensure the health and safety of our guests, Saint Meinrad Archabbey has implemented several new initiatives throughout our property, including the following:

Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) – Masks are no longer required. However, masks are recommended for those who have not been fully vaccinated or who are vulnerable due to a compromised immune system.

Physical Distancing – Guests, co-workers, students and monks are required to practice physical distancing by standing at least six feet away from others while standing, using elevators or moving around the property.

Lobby furniture and other physical layouts have been arranged to ensure appropriate distancing, complying with, or exceeding, local and state mandated occupancy limits. Some specific examples:

ELEVATORS – Please limit elevator use to one group at a time.

DINING ROOMS – The dining rooms will have reduced seating to allow for appropriate distancing between every table and chair.

MEETING AND EVENT SPACES – Meeting and event spaces are arranged to allow for appropriate physical distancing between guests in all meetings and events, based on CDC and state recommendations.

Guest Sanitation Stations – Guests will have access to sanitation stations in the public spaces of the buildings and in the dining rooms.

Housekeeping Service – Housekeeping will be performing detailed cleaning in each guest room prior to your arrival. To ensure safety of both co-workers and guests, we will be providing contactless housekeeping service during your visit. We will only enter the room prior to your check-in and after your check-out, not while you are occupying the room.

Event Rescheduling or Cancellation Policies

Saint Meinrad Archabbey truly regrets that many of our guests will be affected during this time. Many guests have been planning events or special occasions for quite some time. Those who need to reschedule may do so, pending date availability. Guests who choose to cancel their events altogether will be issued a refund.
