Saint Meinrad Archabbey, St. Meinrad, IN, relaunched its free Honor Your Inner Monk prayer app on Monday, November 2, with new features designed to help users develop a daily prayer practice and deepen their spiritual lives.
The original app was developed in 2014 to offer people an easy and accessible way to pray every day. It included a short prayer for each morning and afternoon.
The updated app offers several additional tools to support users in making prayer a regular part of their routines. Users can save favorite prayers for easy access, follow their prayer journey through a history of completed sessions and recent prayers, and earn badges as they build consistency. The app also features guided Lectio Divina, a form of prayerful Scripture reading, and customizable notifications and reminders to encourage daily prayer.
In addition to its prayer resources, the app includes Fr. Harry Hagan, OSB’s, translation of The Rule of St. Benedict, as well as access to Saint Meinrad’s livestream, news, and events.
Rooted in the Benedictine tradition of prayer, the Honor Your Inner Monk app provides a convenient way to incorporate prayer into daily life and stay connected with the spiritual resources of Saint Meinrad. The app revolves around the idea that everyone is called (at least a little) to be a monk.
The updated app will be available for download beginning Monday, November 2, through www.honoryourinnermonk.org. Links to the Apple App Store and Google Play are at the bottom of the page.
