Being Who We Are: Opening our Hearts to God in Prayer - 161206

Friday, January 20, 2023 - Sunday, January 22, 2023
Location: Archabbey Guest House and Retreat Center
Session Faculty: Fr. Simon Herrmann, OSB

Our world is filled with distractions. Our lives are filled with distractions. Our prayer is filled with distractions. Journey with Father Simon and other young adults on recognizing the path of humility in prayer as taught by the early desert tradition.

We will learn about the four primary renunciations we make in life, the eight distractions and desires that enter our prayer and thinking, and how to let those thoughts and desires go through the four traditional strategies of letting the mind and heart rest with God. We will practice listening with "the ear of our hearts” to open the door to God who transforms us from the inside out.

This retreat is for young adults ages 20-35 years old — those who have recently graduated college, single men and women, those recently married, and those with young families.
