The aim of this retreat is to increase the knowledge and comfort level of physicians, nurses, advanced practice providers, and other healthcare professionals in applying Catholic faith and spirituality in their clinical work. The goal is for clinical providers to understand what Catholic teaching and tradition say about some of their most challenging professional experiences, including suffering, when treatments don’t work and prayer seems unanswered, understanding expected and unexpected death, and maintaining hope in the face of extreme odds or declining status. Interacting authentically and respectfully with patients and co-workers in a secular environment where others are not Catholic or Christian will also be considered.
