Discipleship According to the Gospel of Mark

Friday, June 4, 2027 - Sunday, June 6, 2027
Location: Saint Meinrad Archabbey
Session Faculty: Fr. Eugene Hensell, OSB

Before Jesus begins his ministry of preaching and healing, he recruits a small group of helpers from the fishing industry called disciples. Jesus spends a good bit of time preparing these disciples for the work they will undertake. Contrary to what we might expect, these handpicked disciples of Jesus never seem to fully understand who Jesus is and what it means to follow him in discipleship. This retreat will explore why those handpicked disciples seemed to fail and what we can learn from their failure.
