Being Creative, Being Divine: Freedom and an Ethics of Creativity

Friday, May 3, 2019 - Sunday, May 5, 2019
Location: Archabbey Guest House and Retreat Center
Session Faculty: Fr. Adrian Burke, OSB

Nicolai Berdyaev was a 20th-century Russian Orthodox philosopher and theologian who provided Christianity with a marvelous way of framing the spiritual life as a journey into freedom. Conferences will reflect on how the Spirit of Christ moves receptive souls from initial conversion rooted in concepts of sacred duty and fear of the Lord (ethics of Law) into a greater spiritual awakening and loving response (ethics of Redemption), until the heart arrives at maturity in Christ and the freedom of the children of God as a Christian life-stance vis-à-vis the world (ethics of Creativeness).
