Meet Our Presenters

Fr. Adrian Burke, OSB, entered the monastic community at Saint Meinrad in 1992 with a background in business (IU – Kelley School of Business, BS’86). He was ordained a priest in 1997 after earning an M.A. and M.Div, at Saint Meinrad. Fr. Adrian also has an advanced degree in spiritual theology (S.T.L.) from the Angelicum in Rome. After serving in pastoral ministry in three nearby parishes, he came home to work in the Archabbey Business Office and taught spirituality in graduate programs at Saint Meinrad School of Theology. Presently, Fr. Adrian continues as a presenter of formation conferences in our seminary, preaches retreats here and other locations, and serves as a spiritual director for monks and seminarians, as well as diocesan clergy and laity.

Br. Jean Fish, OSB, who is originally from Southern California, made his solemn vows at Saint Meinrad Archabbey in January 2019. During his time as a monk, he has helped with various forms of Benedictine hospitality including being guestmaster in the Archabbey Church. In 2013, he completed a Bachelor of Science in Anthropology at Sonoma State University. In 2019, he completed a Master of Arts in Theology at Saint Meinrad School of Theology. In 2024, Br. Jean completed a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree with a concentration in sculpture at the University of Birmingham.

The primary art medium that he uses is sculptural basket weaving. The process involves making each individual stitch by hand. The rigidity of a finished basket comes from the tension of the yarn as it weaves around jute cords. Dr. David R. Freyer, DO, MS, is a pediatric oncologist at Children’s Hospital Los Angeles and professor of clinical pediatrics, medicine, and population and public health sciences at the Keck School of Medicine, University of Southern California. Dr. Freyer was raised Methodist, converted to the Catholic faith during medical school, is an oblate of St. Benedict with Saint Meinrad Archabbey, and in 2025 was ordained a deacon in the Archdiocese of Los Angeles.

Josh and Angie Greulich have been married for 14 years. Angie works for Catholic Relief Services and has a master’s degree from Saint Meinrad Seminary and School of Theology. Josh has a degree in economics and management from DePauw University and has worked at Jasper Engines and Transmissions for 20 years. They have two children, ages 11 and 12, and a lovable Bernadoodle pup named Gus.

Fr. Thomas Gricoski, OSB, is a monk of Saint Meinrad Archabbey, where he serves as novice/junior master in the monastery and teaches philosophy in our Seminary and School of Theology. He entered the monastery in 2005 and was ordained a priest in 2010. His teaching focuses on finding God in the modern world and the thought of St. Teresa Benedicta of the Cross (Edith Stein). He has led seminarians on their ordination retreat since 2016 and has given numerous conferences to our oblates and guests.

Fr. Harry Hagan, OSB has a doctorate in Scripture from the Pontifical Biblical Institute and teaches Old Testament and biblical languages in the Seminary and School of Theology. He has also held administrative positions in the seminary and served as novice/junior master in the monastery. In addition to his teaching, he has written a number of hymns.

Fr. Eugene Hensell, OSB, a monk of Saint Meinrad Archabbey, has a doctorate in Scripture and is an associate professor of Scripture in the Seminary and School of Theology. Currently, he is the chaplain at the Guest House and Retreat Center.

Fr. Simon Herrmann, OSB, is a solemnly professed Benedictine monk and priest of Saint Meinrad Archabbey. He is the monastery’s vocation director and director of donor relations and young adult engagement. For fun, he enjoys exercising, reading, cutting the monastery courtyard grass, and community building via video games online and offline.

Fr. Lorenzo Penalosa, OSB, a monk of Saint Meinrad Archabbey, has a licentiate degree in sacred liturgy from the Pontifical Athenaeum Sant’Anselmo in Rome and is completing his doctorate at The Catholic University of America in Washington, D.C. His research interests center on worship including the prayers of the Mass, church architecture, theology of blessings, the post-Vatican II liturgical reforms, and the intersections between liturgical and Benedictine spiritualities. He also enjoys sketching, taking photos, making videos, and writing calligraphy.

Jane Feliz Rush holds a master’s in theological studies from Saint Meinrad Seminary and School of Theology. Formerly a Catholic school teacher, campus minister, and administrator, she currently serves as a retreat facilitator, speaker, and writer. She enjoys running and backpacking with her husband of 29 years and young adult children. She blogs at janefelizrush.com.

Cassie Schutzer is a lifelong Catholic with a background in communications and ministry with young adults. She serves as the seminary’s supervised ministry director and the contact for the young adult ministry office. Cassie is passionate about accompanying young people in their walk toward Christ and the importance of hospitality, beauty, joy, and true friendship. She enjoys knitting, baking, walking, long road trips, and quality time spent with friends.

Fr. Michael Reyes, OSB, is a monk of Saint Meinrad Archabbey and was ordained to the priesthood on June 8, 2025. He currently serves as oblate director, as director of Saint Meinrad Archabbey Cultural Events, and as a member of the seminary formation staff.

Fr. Michael earned a bachelor’s degree in music from the University of the Philippines, a master’s degree in music composition and theory from the University of Nevada, and a Doctor of Musical Arts degree in music composition from the University of Illinois in 2019. His distinguished work as a composer and musician has been recognized through numerous international awards, performances, and competitions. In the Seminary, Fr. Michael teaches piano, voice, music theory, and a class on Singing the Roman Missal, bringing both artistic excellence and pastoral dedication to the formation of future priests.

Archabbot Kurt Stasiak, OSB, was elected archabbot of Saint Meinrad Archabbey by the Benedictine monks of the community on June 2, 2016. He is the 10th abbot and 7th archabbot in the community’s 172-year history. Born in Rüdesheim, Germany, Archabbot Kurt professed vows as a Benedictine monk on August 15, 1975, and was ordained a priest on April 27, 1980. He earned his doctorate in sacramental theology from Sant’Anselmo in Rome and has written several books and numerous articles.

Br. Zachary Wilberding, OSB, is a monk of Saint Meinrad Archabbey, who holds bachelor’s and master’s degrees in nursing and graduate study in theology. He has practiced psychiatric and oncology nursing and has experience in hospital and prison ministry. He works in the Monastery Vocations Office and the Graduate Theology Program.

Fr. Kolbe Wolniakowski, OSB, is a monk of Saint Meinrad Archabbey. He entered the community in 2015, professed his solemn vows in August 2019, and was ordained to the priesthood in 2022. After serving as an associate pastor for two years, he returned to Saint Meinrad, where he now serves as sacristan and custos of the Archabbey Church, subprior of the monastery, and as a spiritual director within Saint Meinrad Seminary and School of Theology. He is passionate about helping others encounter God through the beauty of monastic life.

Deacon Rich and Cherie Zoldak have master’s degrees in pastoral theology from Saint Meinrad Seminary and School of Theology. They live in Louisville, KY, and have certificates in pastoral ministry from Spalding University. They have been married for over 40 years, have three children, and one grandchild. They minister to couples in their parish who are preparing for marriage.
