Statement Regarding Fr. Micheas Langston, OSB

Saint Meinrad Archabbey has recently been made aware of allegations against one of its members, Fr. Micheas Langston, OSB, of inappropriate behavior with several college seminarians, occurring in the late 1970s to middle 1980s. Fr. Micheas was a member of the Saint Meinrad College faculty at the time this misconduct is alleged to have occurred.

These allegations have been investigated in accordance with our institutional policies, which included reporting them to law enforcement, and, following consultation with our Review Board, they have been determined to be credible.

Saint Meinrad Archabbey apologizes for the inappropriate conduct of Fr. Micheas and deeply regrets the harm he has caused his accusers and the Church. Saint Meinrad Archabbey/Seminary and School of Theology is committed to the safety and protection of those entrusted to our care.

We welcome any information you might have regarding any misconduct by Fr. Micheas, or the misconduct of any of our members. Statement Regarding Fr. Jeremy King, OSB

Saint Meinrad Archabbey regrets that one of its monks, Fr. Jeremy King, OSB, was involved with an inappropriate relationship with a seminarian during that seminarian's time in our College. This took place in the late 1970s. At the time Fr. Jeremy was a member of the Dean of Students staff in our seminary and served as the spiritual director of the seminarian (a responsibility that would not be permitted today).

Fr. Jeremy resides at Saint Meinrad Archabbey. He has no duties or responsibilities involving our School of Theology and Seminary or any of its programs. He is allowed to exercise ministry under several restrictions.

Saint Meinrad Archabbey apologizes for the inappropriate conduct of Fr. Jeremy and deeply regrets the harm he has caused his accuser and the Church. Saint Meinrad Archabbey/Seminary and School of Theology is committed to the safety and protection of those entrusted to our care.

We welcome any information you might have regarding any misconduct by Fr. Jeremy, or the misconduct of any of our members. Reports can be made to Archabbot Kurt Stasiak, OSB (812-357-6555 or kstasiak@saintmeinrad.edu) or the Victim’s Assistance Coordinator, Mrs. Ann Phillips (812-357-6610 or aphillips@saintmeinrad.edu).
